Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 25, 2026
We do not sell personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what Barbershop Manager collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Barbershop Manager is operated by UpPluck Social LLC ("Barbershop Manager," "we," "us"). It applies to barbershopmanager.com, shop websites and check-in pages we host, the check-in kiosk, owner and barber dashboards, and our text messages (the "Service").
Our role
- For shop owners and visitors to barbershopmanager.com, we decide how your information is used.
- For customers of a barbershop, the shop decides what information to collect and how to contact you. We process that information on the shop's behalf to run check-in, the waiting list, receipts, and texts. For questions about how a specific shop uses your information, contact that shop. You can also contact us.
Information we collect
| Who | What we collect | How we get it |
|---|---|---|
| Shop owners | Name, email, phone, shop name, address, hours, logo, photos, services and prices, ads for the pricing board, billing details | You enter it when signing up and setting up your shop |
| Barbers and staff | Name, username, password (stored encrypted), photo, availability, services completed, tips, daily totals | The shop owner creates the login; barbers add photos and update availability |
| Customers | Name, mobile phone number, preferred barber, check-in time and method (kiosk or online), place in line, services, amounts, tips, visit history, birthday if provided, text opt-out status | You enter it at the kiosk or online; staff record your visit |
| Everyone | IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, dates and times of access, approximate location from IP | Collected automatically when you use the Service |
Payment card details for subscriptions are collected and stored by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers. We do not collect payments from barbershop customers; any payment you make at a shop is handled by the shop outside of the Service.
How we use information
- Run the Service: check-in, the live waiting list, barber assignment, checkout records, receipts, shop websites, pricing boards, and daily totals.
- Send texts on a shop's behalf, as described in section 4.
- Create and secure accounts, including logins, kiosk locking, and fraud prevention.
- Bill shop owners and manage subscriptions and SMS Credits.
- Provide support and send service notices, such as billing, security, and policy updates.
- Understand how the Service is used so we can fix problems and improve it, using aggregated or de-identified data where possible.
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not use a customer's information to market our own products to that customer, and we do not use one shop's customer list for another shop.
Text messages
When you enter your mobile number to check in, the shop will text you a link to your live place in line and, after your visit, a receipt link. If the shop has turned them on, you may also receive reminders, win-back messages, review requests, and birthday offers from that shop. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to any message to opt out; you will not be texted by that shop through the Service again. Reply HELP for help. Mobile phone numbers and text opt-in consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes.
Live-ticket and receipt links use short, hard-to-guess web addresses. Anyone who has the link can view that ticket or receipt, so avoid sharing it publicly.
How we share information
We share information only as follows:
- With the shop you visit. Customer information entered at a shop is available to that shop's owner and, as needed, its barbers. Barbers see only their own chair and totals.
- With service providers who help us operate: cloud hosting and storage, text messaging providers and carriers, payment processing, email delivery, and analytics. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- Public shop content. Shop names, hours, services, prices, barber names and photos, and similar content you add to a shop website or pricing board are public.
- For legal reasons, if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users, the public, or us.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
- With consent or at your direction.
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember language (English or Spanish) and settings, keep the kiosk locked, and understand site usage. You can control cookies in your browser, but some features, such as staying signed in, may not work without them. We do not respond to Do Not Track signals, but we honor Global Privacy Control signals where the law requires.
Data retention
We keep shop and customer information while the shop's account is active. After a shop closes its account, the owner may request an export within 30 days; after that we delete or de-identify the shop's data within a reasonable time, except records we must keep for legal, tax, billing, or security reasons. We keep text opt-out records as long as needed to honor them.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted password storage, role-based access so barbers see only their own data, and a locked customer kiosk with no access to staff controls. No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify affected shops and individuals as required by law, including Massachusetts data breach law.
Your choices and rights
- Customers: reply STOP to stop texts. To access, correct, or delete your information, contact the shop you visited or email us and we will work with the shop to respond.
- Shop owners and barbers: update most information in your dashboard. Owners can export or delete shop data by contacting us.
- State privacy rights: depending on where you live, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to opt out of sale, targeted advertising, or profiling. We do not sell or share personal information for those purposes. To make a request, email info@barbershopmanager.com. We will verify your request and respond within the time the law requires. You may use an authorized agent, and you may appeal a denial by replying to our response. We will not discriminate against you for using your rights.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Shop owners should not enter a child's mobile number or birthday; a parent or guardian may check in a child using the parent's own name and number. If you believe we have a child's information, contact us and we will delete it.
International users
The Service is operated in the United States and information is stored in the United States. If you use it from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. We will post the new version with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify shop owners by email or in the dashboard.
